The Feel Good Idea Of The Day: Wind

Faeries, come take me out of this dull world,
For I would ride with you upon the wind,
Run on the top of the dishevelled tide,
And dance upon the mountains like a flame.
— W.B. Yeats, The Land of Heart's Desire

The video:  blooming lupine wave in the wind like dancers.

I like to take videos of flowers as they blow in the wind.  The videos paint a picture of what the flower is capable of.  I can see the flower tilting, moving...responding to nature.   I imagine myself, a peony in full bloom--my petals undulating in the gentle breeze.

I invite you to imagine that the wind impresses upon humans similarly.  If we were tiny as flowers and faeries, can you imagine the way the wind would reveal our character.  The way the wind would gently move our bodies to the rhythm of the weather.  I imagine a garden of flowers in bloom and people interspersed, no taller than peonies or irises.

Can you see it:  the way the wind blows my hair, catching upon the petals of daisies.  The way my body sways, illustrating the wisdom of muscles and bones.

The wind reminds me to remain flexible in body and in imagination.  We don't know when a breeze will come and change the course of our undulations...tilting our compass.  The wind is part and parcel of us, the wildness of nature made manifest within.  Keep an open mind:  for the wind may bring you the great gift of turning your world upside down, giving you a magnificent new perspective.
