The Feel Good Idea Of The Day: Thankful
Looking Back: Our Thanksgiving Weekend
A few days before Thanksgiving I began preparing for our big meal. As my mind raced with thoughts about how this was a big Holiday and Marc and I had the honor (and all the work) of hosting family and friends, I allowed myself to pause. When I paused, I thought about the intended theme of Thanksgiving--Togetherness, Thankfulness, Appreciation. Then it dawned on me: Hosting Thanksgiving Day is like throwing a big party for all the things I'm Thankful for. Reframing this for myself made my preparations and the time I spent with my family a lot more fun. While getting the food ready and playing around the kitchen with Marc, I reminded myself that I had permission to do it my way. I'm sending a big thanks to Robin Hallett for her beautiful post about navigating the holiday season, check it out here. How did we do? We had a beautiful day. The picture below was taken at the end of the day. It is a snapshot of part of the crew, some of our guests had already taken off when we remembered to take a group picture.
