The Feel Good Idea Of The Day: Summer Solstice 2015
The Great Light
Yesterday was the Summer Solstice. The Summer Solstice is the day with the most light. Traditionally this day is met with celebrations, bonfires, music, barbecues and most importantly:
Marc and I were privileged to host friends at our home. We made a beautiful "Apacheta" which is a rock sculpture or cairn. The Apacheta is a loving gift for Mother Earth, and acts as an energetic conduit; uniting the energies of Sky and Earth.
After our guests departed we sat outside enjoying the setting sun. We call it the Golden Hour, when the sun shines upon the mountains and outer-lying features. It is nothing short of majestic. As we looked at our pond, we saw a Great Blue Heron fly along. We watched the giant bird as it flew from tree top to tree top. Eventually it settled on the limb of a Cottonwood Tree. Watching the way it stretched its neck and shook its head was marvelous. It appeared to lay in the tree and relax. Marc and I went inside to do the same.
I am wishing a Happy Summer to each of you. May you enjoy the joy of the season. Summer is a favorite season of many--and for good reason. All the plants are blooming, stereos are booming, those late summer nights. It is truly fun. Embrace all the beauty and love this life has to offer.
