The Feel Good Idea Of The Day: Rest

Rest and repose are as much a part of life’s journeys as seeing all we came to see.

A woman rests upon a stack of driftwood during sunset at Ruby Beach in Olympic National Park.  August 2014.

It's quite amazing:  the ocean transforms tree logs and branches into something we refer to as "driftwood."  When I see these massive tree parts, pushed out to sea and brought back to shore by the rollicking waves, it can sure make me feel small and the ocean seem oh, so big.

Somedays when I am struggling with a problem or a worry, I feel akin to a piece of driftwood; not knowing which way is up and finally tossed up to shore, (thank goodness.)  Instead of trudging back toward the waves when I am feeling down, I'll choose to take rest upon the sand.

Rest and renewal are the best course when we feel overwhelmed.

Lets promise that amongst all the hustle and bustle of life, we won't forget to take care of our most important resource:  ourselves.

Remember, I'm here with you!

Sometimes the most urgent and vital thing you can possibly do is take a complete rest.
