The Feel Good Idea Of The Day: Have a Moment

I invite you to "have a moment" today.  The kind of moment when you think to yourself, "Ya know, things aren't so bad…actually things are pretty good."  I had one of these moments last week.  I was stressed out or worrying about something (I honestly can't remember what it was,) and I went outside with Woody the Dog.  My head was fuzzy, but beginning to clear as we walked down a big hill and saw the blue sky lighting up over the pond.

We walked down to the pond.  Woody was immediately interested and took a drink and floated along for a minute.  He took off and rooted around the cattails.  I stood and looked at the reflections in the water.  I sat down on the ground in my dirty blue jeans.  As I sat there, things were beginning to lighten up, as they always will--if we let them.  I noticed the dragonflies buzzing around.  I watched as a single Cottonwood leaf cascaded into the pond.  I noticed the perfect October day, warm--but not hot.  The clouds in the sky.  It all came into focus--the beauty of it all.  I was Having a Moment.  Then Woody sat down about five feet away and he just gave me this cool and relaxed look.  And there we were.
