The Feel Good Idea Of The Day: Flight

Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return.

The metaphor of flight is one that speaks with me.  We humans are connected to birds, the winged-ones are part of our lives and intermingle with us.  They are animals that remain with us despite the cities we build with sky high towers.  Birds linger with us, hop along the concrete as we do and stay incredibly close.  I think that is why they are such an inspiration to us.  Our language is littered with bird references:

Take flight

Fly away

Flit away

Somedays I wish I could take flight.  How freeing it would be to soar the way a bird does.  Thinking about the way a big owl soars and then lands so gracefully with its gigantic wings, it is inspiring.  They can cover ground so quickly and easily.  Their flight is so beautiful.  Free.

Every bird that flies has the thread of the infinite in its claw.
